SAFETY

PERMANENT LIFE LINE INSTALLATION
RE-CERTIFICATION
INSTALLATION OF FIXED ANCHOR POINTS
At AirHeaD we are known and trusted
for fall arrest equipment which are manufactured to the SANS and EN Standards. Our equipment is designed to give you the needed convenience and safety to carry out your task, ensuring that work place safety is a priority.
Lifeline installations are a fundamental part of any construction project as they make it easier to get to hard to reach places & also allow you to work safely at heights with no stable ground for support. Working from heights can be
dangerous and unsafe without an
efficient life line attached to you.
A permanent Anchor point must
be certified to EN795 – this must be visually stamped on the anchor point
and there should be some sort of certificate which accompanies
the product. Permanent Lifelines
must also carry the EN795 (Horizontal)
and EN353 (Vertical) standard.
As Work at Heights gear is Category 3 safety it must also carry
a CE compliance.
At AirHeaD we are able to inspect and
recertify current anchor/
safety points as well as
permanent life line installations.
For installation, we drill a hole,
clean it out, and inject a two-part
chemical mortar inside, then place an anchor rod inside the hole.
Use of this special chemical mix creates
an iron-strength bond
between the anchor rod and the substrate. Chemical anchors tend to be the strongest and can last as long as inspections are kept up to date, and as long as
stainless steel materials are used.
Mechanical anchors are quick and easy to install but typically are not a good long-term solution because they may cause waterproofing issues.
TRAINING

ROPE ACCESS
LEVEL 1+2+3
FALL ARREST
FALL PROTECTION
PLAN
IRATA & I.W.H Level 1 rope access training
is the entry-level qualification
aimed at individuals with
little or zero previous experience
in ropes and associated equipment
that are used to gain access
to at-height locations.
The IRATA Level 2 is for technicians
who want to learn advanced rigging and rescue methods.
The IRATA Level 3 rope access is undertaken over five days: a 4 day training period followed by a 1 day assessment.
All training & tests occur under a Level 3. technician.
Fall arrest is the act of stopping a free fall or the instant where a downward free fall is stopped by the aid of some supporting equipment. Fall arrest is a form of fall protection system that prevents a fall from causing serious harm or death.
A fall arrest safety system typically includes an anchor point or series of anchor points, a safety lanyard or
self-retracting lifeline, and a harness.
This system must be designed to “arrest” or stop you before hitting the lower surface in the case of a fall. This gives you the freedom to walk all the way up to a fall hazard to do your work.
Safety measures should be in place and this can be achieved by drafting a
Fall Protection Plan. This plan assists in ensuring that falls will be
prevented and that clear procedures
are followed should it happen.
AirHead, as a health and safety
practicing Institute has the expertise
to help companies create a comprehensive Fall Protection Plan
in their workplaces. We will
first assess and evaluate the nature of your activities so that the correct Fall Protection Plan is implemented by the Fall Protection Planner.
